Bio

Victoria Poleva was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, into a family of musicians. From 1990 to1995, she studied composition with Ivan Karabyts and Levko Kolodub at the Kyiv Conservatory (now the National Music Academy of Ukraine), where from 1990 to 2005, she taught composition. In the early stages of her career, her style was influenced by avant-grade and polystylistic aesthetics. In the 1990s, Poleva’s music acquired more spiritual themes and simplicity.
